...Along The Way

These days I find myself wishing. In a world as cold and calculating as the one I find myself in, it is no wonder that the howling winds making the snowflakes swirl around my head; whip through my coat, freezing the blood in my veins. Like a torpedo on its path of endless destruction, cruising through the deep blue currents, I find myself alone. It's not that I do not have any friends. GOD knows that these days it seems like everyone wants to be my friend. I just seem unable to pull myself together enough to care...It's like my world has been washed away. Like a sandcastle hit by a thousand waves. Shattered shreds of colored glass pepper my path. At each passing step I see bits and pieces of my life reflected in the tears falling from my eyes. Somehow I have to find a way to pull it all together. Patch things up. Move on...

A broken heart does not mend easily... I know. So much of what I have experienced in life has come from a broken heart, a torn page in the book of life. In so many ways we learn to hide our true feelings, as we masquerade as someone else. Truth be told, most of our time is spent trying to live in a world which only we would recognize. Alone in a crowd of endless faces. Going and coming... Gone!

But still, along the way, I have seen many beautiful things. I have met some wonderful people. It is true what they say, "A rose by any other name, is still a rose." The fragrance of which I won't soon forget. Ageless and timeless, like love - endless love... Along the way.
